Mission Statment
My mission is to be a Licensor, establishing and coordinating a business that can amplify a brand with creativity, dedication, and passion.
Dream Internship
Ralph Lauren is my ideal dream internship company to work for. Ralph Lauren started Ralph Lauren Corporation in 1967 with a line of men’s ties. He began his career with the simple goal of creating clothes he wanted to wear. In 1968, he created his first menswear collection under the name “polo.” He then continued to create men’s collections which led him to open the Polo Ralph Lauren shop in Bloomingdales. His first ever standalone store was in Beverly Hills, California in 1971. He expanded his brand by also creating Women’s lines. Ralph Lauren’s target customers are in the upper-middle class, of all genders and age. These customers are also family oriented and are on the sportier side and value elegant sports like polo and rugby. Their target customer also dresses classic, sophisticated, put together, and dresses more on the modest side of the spectrum. For over 50 years, Ralph Lauren is a global leader in the fashion industry and premium life products including apparel, accessories, home, fragrances, and hospitality.
In current newsworthy happenings of Ralph Lauren, they recently announced they’re diving into the metaverse through their collaboration with Fortnite. In The New York Times article “Ralph Lauren to Launch Fortnite Fashion Line with First Polo Logo Mashup” by Bloomberg, it says that for the first time in 55 years Ralph Lauren is redesigning its logo to incorporate the Fortnite llama. As well as on the Fortnite website, they will be selling physical hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants, button-down shirts, polo shirts and caps, with the mashup of the Polo logo with its iconic jockey riding the Fortnite llama. Prices will range from $59.50 to $188. The company has been reinventing itself for Gen-Z through various collaborations in the metaverse, including one last holiday season with the gaming platform Roblox Corp. They are pushing for their online revenue to go up from 26% to 33% in the next several years.
Interning at Ralph Lauren and being in the environment that they promote which is “Thriving in a Culture that champions respect, individuality and possibility”
would be an absolute dream for me. For a while now I’ve admired the look of Ralph Lauren as a whole and every detail about the company, as well as its designs. I would be interested in working with their merchandise, in product development or even licensing and buying the license of the company to create my own line. Apart from the apparel, the home collection of Ralph Lauren is outstanding which I would also be interested in working with as well.

Ralph Lauren
Dear Elizabeth Kingsley,

I’m a student at FIT majoring in the Fashion Business Management program. I’ve came across the product development internship position in the Ralph Lauren Soho, New York location on Linked in. I am very interested in applying for the job. This would be a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge that I have previously learned in retail and wholesale and apply it to this position.
My previous job experiences have prepared me, as I am familiar with sales, product support, licensing, and design to ensure the execution of the development of art, graphics, and prints. My knowledge of photoshop and illustrator, and strong computer skills like Excel and PowerPoint have expanded my ability to problem solve. These experiences come from my past internships at a wholesale jewelry company, Jacmel Jewelry, a pop-up retail store, Found in Italy, and as a art intern for Monique Zeitoune Art.
Ralph Lauren, a global leader in distribution of apparel, accessories, home, fragrances, and hospitality are trying to widen their demographic and maintain its brand strength in the completive world today. They are trying to cater to the Gen Z population and the metaverse. Being Gen Z myself, I can share my knowledge and experiences with Ralph Lauren.
I would love to get interviewed for this opportunity. I hope to hear from you, and I will contact you again in a week if I don’t hear back. Thank you for taking time and reading my cover letter.

Sincerely,
Sara Mudick
